Wendy Salter a month agoYou know, when it's time to go home, people want to go home, and I totally get that. I came flying in here at the last minute tonight and when I got to the drive-thru the first thing I did was apologize for showing up so late. Before helping me, the guy made sure to roll down the shutters on the inside, so as to ensure that no more last-minute patients would be helped. Then he came to help me (still a few minutes before 8:00) and I didn't have my driver's license because I had to give it to my client's concierge in exchange for keys to her apartment. I asked if they would accept a photo of my ID and he consulted with someone, presumably the pharmacist, and they said they would accept the photo. Then when he gave me my total, I held up my phone, ready to tap to pay because it's 2026. This was my first time picking up a prescription here that I can remember. After some consultation, I was told that because of the class of my medication, I could not tap to pay from the drive-thru but I could do it from the inside, but the inside was closed (because he rolled down the shutters before helping me). Whaaaat!? What does the class of my medication have to do with whether I pay with my phone inside or outside? They had already accepted a photo of my ID. If anything, that should have stopped them from giving me my meds, but it didn't. Whether I insert a credit card or tap with my phone, the same information is transmitted. No information about the class of my medication is transmitted along with my payment. I believe that they don't take tap to pay through the drive-thru and did not want to allow me to walk inside and pay, so they claimed that the payment system somehow knows what class of drug I'm paying for, and only accepts classes of drugs that I was not picking up. That sounds like a HIPAA violation if true, but I'm pretty sure it was just a flimsy excuse. I had driven from North Austin and I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back over there--not that they care.
Sarah Chatterjee 6 months agoEmployee “Rex” is extremely unprofessional and should seriously be considered for performance improvement and customer service training. I’ve been shopping at Walgreens across the county for decades and my interaction with Rex was the worst experience I’ve had at all Walgreens across the country. He was the “manager” on duty. What should have been a quick in and out wended up being a 30 min visit due to multiple failure points. I picked up 3 nail polish bottles and went to check out. Originally, two registers were open and customers were at each. I patiently waited my turn. Rex finished with his customer (who appeared to be a friend/someone he knew) and was chatting about his employment history and not being able to work in food service as he wasn’t good at it. He then started talking about working at bars and the better money you can get but that it was hard to get into. The cashier (who was in street clothes with no Walgreens employee attire, badge, or identification) at the line I was waiting at couldn’t process the customer he was handling as Rex was logged into both machines and they system couldn’t process on two different registers at the same time. When Rex finally finished chit chatting, he approached my line and told the cashier to continue his transcription and walked away, indicating that I needed to continue to wait. The customer in front of me decided not to purchase her items as none of the coupons she presented were being accepted by the system and the cashier could not explain why. Rex had to be radioed to come back from the back office since it was his login and he needed to cancel it. There was now another woman behind me and Rex asked for the next customer on the other terminal (which he earlier claimed wasn’t going to work until he was logged out of the other machine). I went to his line as I had already been waiting for a long time. He processed my purchase but I noticed, after paying, that he rang up the items for the wrong price. When questioned he went back to the section I referenced to confirm the listed price ($1.99 and not $8.49). When processing the price change, he only returned $4. When questioned why the math didn’t add up, he seemed frustrated, didn’t take even a second to think about it, and simply stated that if I had a complaint I needed to talk to store management (which I thought was him at the time). I was appalled and asked him to just refund me all my money as I would no longer be buying any products from him. He processed something on the computer and refused to give me any proof/receipt of the return/cancellation and simply told me “time to leave”. WOW! I’m appalled. He shouldn’t be in a customer facing role!!
Dave Williams a year agoWorst pharmacy ever! Supposed to open at 9 am. Now 9:05 and no one working. Line forming. Customers waiting. Apparently someone in charge late for work. So, management only one person can open pharmacy? Really bad look. Just wish I could use another pharmacy. Now telling us pharmacists who can open won’t be here for at least another twenty minutes. Time to fire this pharmacist!
