I am writing to share my sincere appreciation for the professional and outgoing customer service I received from the night crew at the Walgreens located on 43rd Ave and Glendale in Glendale, Arizona. I specifically want to recognize Ron, Michael, and Jordyn for their exceptional support. From the moment Ron answered the phone, to the quick service I received from Michael, the Lead, and finishing the call with Jordyn, the experience was absolutely awesome. I have been going through a very difficult time recently, including job loss and the passing of our family dog, Benji. Most devastatingly, after recently finding out I was pregnant, I learned yesterday that I suffered a miscarriage. My five sons were so excited to welcome a new sibling, and dealing with this news has been incredibly hard. Amidst these personal challenges, the fact that these three staff members went above and beyond to ensure I was well taken care of meant a lot to me. The cashier's are super helpful and so sweet. Reminding everyone to get their flu shots and COVID shots after they check out. And never get frustrated when you are fumbling to get on with your payment even though you've been waiting in line for like 19 minutes and had ample time to get it out beforehand. They are still super sweet! Show some love to the Walgreens cashiers next time you stop in. Remember: they are just doing their job. It's not personal.

I’ve been coming to this Walgreens regularly to load money onto my card because I don’t like carrying cash. Today’s visit was the first time I left feeling genuinely uncomfortable. When I walked in at around 12:40 pm 1/4/2026 the heavy set Hispanic cashier didn’t greet me at all. Two older white women were in line, and one of them gave me a very hostile look almost as if something had been said before I arrived. When it was my turn, the cashier still didn’t greet me and immediately held up the scanner. I explained I was loading my card and didn’t have a barcode. I had the cash in my hand, as I always do, and I’ve done this process here several times a week without any issues. Instead of communicating clearly, she abruptly told me she needed the cash first even though she was ready to scan my barcode seconds earlier without asking for it. After I handed her the money, she told me to slide my card, which I had already done. The entire interaction felt rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in basic customer service. What made it worse is that this same cashier has helped me before and has never acted this way. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day or simply felt comfortable being disrespectful, but the attitude was unnecessary and left a bitter impression. I usually come to this location because the Native American woman who works the register is always kind, respectful, and professional. Her customer service is the reason I return. But after today’s experience with this other cashier, I’m honestly reconsidering whether I want to deal with that treatment again.

I’ve been coming to this Walgreens regularly to deposit cash onto my reloadable card. Today’s visit left me extremely upset and disappointed. I went in to load $120 onto my card. I had two separate stacks of cash: one stack of five $20 bills ($100) and another single $20 bill. I pulled both stacks out of my pocket purse which also holds my keys and handed them to the cashier together at the same time. The cashier helping me was the oldest of the employees working the registers. After I handed her the money, she repeated “120?” and then spread the bills out. She counted only “100.” I immediately looked around my side of the counter to see if the single $20 had fallen, but nothing was there. I know for a fact I handed her $120, not $100. There were people behind me, and she was very firm that I had only given her $100. Arguing with her felt pointless in the moment, so I left and called the store as soon as I got home. The same cashier answered the phone. She confirmed she was the one who helped me and insisted she never saw the other $20. I explained again that I handed her $120 and that I was absolutely certain. I asked to speak with a manager. She sounded irritated and told me the wait would be long because they were busy. I told her that was fine. When I spoke with the manager, I explained the situation clearly, including what I was wearing so they could review the cameras. The manager told me the cashier was older and “unlikely” to have taken the money, and that the drawer balanced correctly. But age has nothing to do with honesty, and if the missing $20 never made it into the drawer, that doesn’t prove anything. The manager said she reviewed the video while we were on the phone but couldn’t see any money falling or being misplaced. Whether it’s $20 or $3, it was my money. I walked in with two stacks totaling $120, and I walked out with $20 unaccounted for and no real explanation. As a single mom who deposits cash specifically to avoid losing it, this experience was frustrating, hurtful, and completely unacceptable. I still have no answer for what happened to the money I handed over, and the lack of accountability from the staff makes this even worse.

Shyla who was a cashier when I was checking out was one of the top 5 customer service representatives I have encountered in several years. In the world as it is today it is difficult to find someone who truly cares about what you need, very helpful and sincere. Experience it for yourself- if you want someone knowledgeable and cares about what YOU need!!
