Austin 3 weeks agoFlagged at checkout for using a group phone number? Imagine policing that. I shouldn't pay a penalty fee for refusing to surrender my personal information to a company with multiple data breaches and security incidents on its record. Not to mention... [2012 - 2023] Walgreens settled for $300 million for illegally filling opioid prescriptions. [2009 - 2020] Walgreens settled for $97.8 million with the DOJ and 50 state Attorneys General for billing government health programs for prescriptions that never existed. [2018 - 2024] Walgreens settled for $500K for charging more at the register than the shelf price 416 times, even after state inspectors told them to stop. But sure, my PHONE NUMBER is the integrity problem. Heroic work out there night shift register guy! 👏👏👏 You literally fought FOR a corrupt billion dollar corporation to shake down an extra FIVE whole dollars, and all it cost was every dollar I'll ever spend, somewhere else. Forever. Walgreens pissed away more on misconduct settlements in the last year than they'll pay you in your entire lifetime. By about 200x. I hope you framed my receipt for the breakroom, it's literally the last one Walgreens is getting.
Jessica Baker Sullivan 8 months agoWalgreens used to be one of my favorite pharmacies, however, I will do everything I can to avoid using them in the future. UC Health Urgent Care prescribed ear drops and I asked that they be filled at the Barnes Walgreens location in COS. The app pushed a notification stating that medication was unavailable and said the Constitution location had it in stock and recommended I get it filled there, so I transferred the prescription via the app there. Next, I got an alert on the app that without insurance (I have insurance), it would be $183. I tried to call the pharmacy, but there were many callers ahead of me, so I decided it would be faster to just pop by to get my insurance added to my existing account (why it wasn't there, I have no idea). Isaac assisted me at the pharmacy. First he told me they were out of the medication also, and it would be Monday (FIVE DAYS LATER) before they could get it in. Then he said he could check the other Walgreens in town to see if they MIGHT have it. He told me neither the app, nor their internal inventory system was reliable. Then he said he would TRY to call the Walgreens that had it in stock. At that point, I told him that none of his statements were giving me a sense of security and how bad is their inventory system if it is that inaccurate. Then he started backpedaling and told me the provider prescribed an obscure medication and that no Walgreens in COS had it. Next, he said becuase it was still early in the day (10:30 AM), he MIGHT be able to get it in tomorrow. I said no, and to please cancel processing the medication as I had zero confidence in anything he said. I have had increasingly bad customer service at both this location and at the Barnes location for several years, but I know they were understaffed, etc. from the pandemic. This was the icing on the cake. As I said up front, I will do everytihng I can to avoid Walgreens in the future. I called The Medicine Shoppe on Union and they had me squared away quickly and started processing my prescription.
V S 6 months agoMy experience with Walgreens Pharmacy has been consistently frustrating and ultimately harmful due to ongoing issues with prescription delays, poor communication, and unreliable medication management. Despite repeated attempts to resolve prescription issues, medications were delayed or not available as indicated in the system. Status updates were inconsistent, and I was required to make multiple calls to clarify whether prescriptions had actually been filled, often without an answer, due to long hold times. These breakdowns were not isolated incidents but part of a recurring pattern. As a direct result of these delays and the lack of timely access to prescribed medication, my condition worsened and ultimately required hospitalization. This outcome was both physically and emotionally distressing and has resulted in significant, avoidable medical costs that I am now responsible for. No patient should face hospitalization or financial hardship because a pharmacy failed to process and communicate prescriptions accurately. Communication remains a major failure point. The disconnect between the automated system, pharmacy staff, and prescribers places an unreasonable burden on patients to manage their own care coordination. While individual staff members often appear overwhelmed, the issues I experienced reflect systemic operational failures. Walgreens must address staffing levels, prescription tracking accuracy, and patient communication protocols to prevent situations like this from happening to others. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Walgreens Pharmacy, particularly for patients with chronic, time-sensitive, or high-risk medical needs.
Haley Benardino 4 months agoI have nothing positive to say about this pharmacy. Walgreens needs to get their act together, pay your pharmacy staff better, train them better, stop overworking them. It is affecting the quality of service so much so that I'm done with Walgreens and switched my prescription to a different company.
alanah foy 8 months agoAvoid this place at all costs. This is specifically for the pharmacy. I went to fill a simple prescription. First off the wait was insane because I was the only one in line and waited 15 minutes for help. The lady then ran both my insurances and told me my birth date was wrong and she got an error. I told her its impossible for both my insurances to have the wrong bday. She was doing something wrong. I've also used those same insurances before there. I asked to transfer the prescription, she said I had to call. Nobody answers. I had my Dr send it to safeway across the street. No issues, filled quickly and accurately. Walgreens is incompetent. Save yourself the trouble and frustration.
